Mr. Ulrik Bengtsson visited the Floriana Football Nursery earlier this month, in view of financially supporting this long-standing organisation based just outside Valletta, the capital city of Malta. The Nursery’s efforts are clearly based on the principle quoted by Mr. Hugh Peralta, (the Nursery’s Chairman)  “Mens Sana in Corpore Sano” this reflects the ethos with which the nursery is managed.

Central to the local community, this Nursery has grown into an organisation that helps support children with a difficult social background by keeping them off the streets and offering a structure that helps them grow as individuals within a team and a healthy social environment. This helps them learn important life skills such as team dynamics and other social skills.

This has grown the Nursery’s need for financial support because the management offers complementary or subsidised membership and services to children from a challenging background. The nursery offers training by professional footballers ranging from ages 4 to 17 and complements its services by providing transport.

The Nusery team has gained an excellent track record winning many challenges and trophies which are proudly displayed at the club’s historical museum situated a stone’s throw away near the Floriana parish church. Further more it currently has 3 youngsters playing with Chievo, Manchester United and Sunderland.

With a population of over 220 boys training weekly, the demands of the nursery grow year-on-year. This is where Betsson’s support is really appreciated. As a Company that has strong synergies with the world of Sports, Betsson appreciates the efforts required to succeed at such an endeavour and strongly supports the value this brings to the community.

Mr. Ulrik Bengtsson visited the Nursery grounds during a training session on the 18th of September to show Betsson’s dedication to this cause.
