A “ONE Betsson” Christmas

Here, at the Betsson Group we wanted to show we care about our communities so this Christmas we decided to give back in Betsson style. Our core value “ ONE Betsson” came to life during the holiday period when our offices from around the world joined hands by taking part in charitable initiatives aimed at helping those in need.

In Kiev, our colleagues collected money and bought sweets and gifts for 60 orphans, aged 5 to 15 years, in order to fulfil the wishes which they had written in their letters to St. Nicholas. The children saw their wishes come true right in front of their eyes as they received the carefully wrapped parcels of goodies.

Tallinn Betssonites joined the Estonian Football Association initiative which benefits a Children’s hospital. The Estonian Football Association sold football shirts belonging to well-known Estonian players such as Sergei Pareiko [ex-goal keeper of the National Estonian football team] in order to donate the proceeds to the hospital. Our Estonian team was overjoyed to be able to buy one of the shirts knowing that money will help improve medical care.

Our Stockholm office chose to make a donation to Stockholms Stadmission. The organisation has a broader mission and aims to bring aid to a number of needy families and individuals such as underprivileged children, struggling mothers, homeless people and those living with abuse, just to name a few.

In Malta, The Betsson Group decided to entertain children who currently live in residential homes. Our staff coordinated all the organisation of the event, and various teams took care of the entertainment, food and gifts.

We also discovered some culinarily gifted Betssonites which prepared some of the food present throughout the evening for the guests.  Together with the nuns and carers the children were welcomed to our offices and taken up on the 8th floor where the entire area had been set up by our Betssonites especially for them.

Entertainers were hired to play games with the kids, face painting and balloon modelling being the main attraction for the younger children. Older children opted to watch the movie playing on the large screen in the ad-hoc “cinema area” built for them.

Soon enough, the children and our Betssonites were busy showing off their dance moves beeping and bopping on the dance floor like there was no tomorrow. Thankfully, a photo booth was present to capture all the smiles and excitement of the kids. Last but definitely not least, Father Christmas himself paid the kids a visit to hand out gifts in person.

There’s nothing quite as rewarding as giving back. Happy holidays to everyone from #ONEBetsson!
